NHSWaitHelper ("we", "us") provides independent information for NHS patients in England. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.

What we collect

• Information you submit voluntarily — for example a referral date entered into the calculator, or your email address if you ask for a personalised report or contact us.
• Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested) for security and aggregate analytics.
• If you choose to answer the optional feedback questions after Action Check or "Could I be seen sooner?", we record your coded answer (for example "yes", "not sure" or "I got an update") with an anonymous session code. We do not record free text, dates, postcodes, hospitals or health details with it.
• If you say you might contact the NHS, your own browser stores a random reference and the date (in local storage, not a cookie) so we can ask one optional follow-up question on a later visit. It is removed after 60 days and is asked at most once. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

What we don't collect

• We do not request, collect, or store NHS numbers, clinical records, or patient identifiable health information.
• We do not sell personal data to third parties.

How we use your data

• To provide the tool, report, or response you've asked for.
• To send service-related emails (e.g. your report, replies to enquiries).
• For aggregate analytics to improve the site.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Contact us via the contact page and we'll respond within one month.

Cookies

We use a minimal set of essential cookies required for the site to function and, where applicable, privacy-respecting analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

Updates

If this policy materially changes, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, notify users.
